Publication Ethics

The publication of an article in the ABAS Journal could be an essential step in the development of a coherent and respected network of scientific knowledge. It is thus important to agree upon defined standards of expected ethical behavior upon article submission.

  • Authors report original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Data should be represented accurately in the manuscript.
  • The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
  • Authors should cite publications that have influenced the reported work and that give the work appropriate context within the larger scientific record.
  • Authors should not submit manuscripts describing the same research to more than one journal.
  • Plagiarism is considered unethical behavior and is absolutely unacceptable. However, a limited extent is permitted for review articles.
  • For the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify these in the manuscript.
  • When using a word which, is asserted to be a proprietary term or trademark, authors must use the symbol ® or TM.
  • For the work involves the use of animal or human subjects, the author should ensure that the manuscript contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional ethical committee(s) have approved them.
  • Authors should also include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed.
  • Appropriate permissions and releases must be obtained where author wishes to include case details or other personal information or images of patients and any other individuals in the publishing article.
  • Upon acceptance of the article, authors will receive a link to the special Author Query Application at our web page where they can sign the Copyright Transfer Statement online and indicate whether they wish to order Open-Choice, off-prints, or printing of figures in color.
  • Once the Author Query Application has been completed, the article will be processed and you will receive the proofs.

The editors reserve the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements. The author will be held responsible for false statements or failure to fulfill the above-mentioned requirements.
