Prof. Abdelfattah Badr

Professor Badr finished a B.SC honor degree in Botany in 1972 and a Ph.D. in Plant Genetics from Sheffield University, UK in 1977. He earned a Professorship at Tanta University, in 1986, where he worked as a faculty member, from 1977 to 2012, and was Head of the Botany Department from 1996 to 2002. Professor Badr was a warded postgraduate grant by the British Council in 1980, Fulbright Research Grant in 2001  Fulbright Senior Scholarship in 2011, and a DAAD Science Tour in 2012. He is Alexander von Humboldt’s Fellow since 1990. Professor Badr was awarded the Egyptian State Appreciation Prize in Biological Sciences in 1996 and Tanta University Appreciation Prize for Merit in Basic Sciences in 2008. Professor Badr founded the Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratories and initiated the M.Sc. in Genetics and the B.Sc. Biotechnology program in 2012. He supervised 75 postgraduate dissertations in ten universities and published more than 145 peer-reviewed articles, five books, and three electronic books. He participated in 12 projects, chaired, organized, and attended over 120 conferences, and was invited speaker to 35 conferences. He is an editor and/or reviewer for over 30 international, regional, and Egyptian journals. Professor Badr has been selected as a chair or a member of many committees in scientific foundations such as the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Universities.

Prof. Emad Mohamed abo- Eldahab

Professor Emad Abo-Eldahab joined Helwan University in November 1987 as a demonstrator of Mathematics.  Professor Emad Abo-Eldahab received his M. Sc. in Mathematics (1993) and a doctoral degree in Applied Mathematics from Helwan University, Egypt (1997).  He was promoted to professor in 2007. In 2020, he was elected as the Dean of the Faculty of Science at Helwan University, and acting Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs. He published more than 46 scientific research articles in high-ranking leading international journals and supervised 35 postgraduate dissertations.  Professor Emad Abo-Eldahab attended some international and national conferences and is the recipient of the best research at Helwan University Award (2003).  Also, he was awarded Amin Lotfy Prize from the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology (ASRT), Cairo, Egypt (2004(.   Prof.  Abo-Eldahab is a member of different scientific committees such as the Basic Science Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities from 2020 to 2023 and all the specific committees at Helwan University for Postgraduate Studies and research science 2018. He is Chairman of the board of directors of the insurance fund for faculty members, their assistants, and employees.  Professor  Emad Abo-Eldahab is a member of the science committee for reviewing the promotion of professor and associate professors in the supreme council of Egyptian Universities, Egypt.  In June 2023, Professor  Emad Abo-Eldahab was appointed as Vice President of Helwan University for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

Prof. Magdy Abdo Ibrahim El-Hagary

Professor Magdy EL-Hagary joined Helwan University in 1988 as a demonstrator in the Physics Department. He received M.Sc. in Physics (1993) from Helwan University. and a Ph.D. in physics from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria (2000). He was promoted to associate professor in 2005 and to professor in 2011. In 2014, he was elected as the chair of the Department of Physics, and in 2022 he was appointed Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research. Professor EL-Hagary was a postdoctoral fellow at the Vienna University of Technology (2000-2005), a visiting professor at Max Plank Institute for the intelligent system, Stuttgart, Germany (2012), and Mohamed VI University, Morocco (2019). His area of specialty is the physics of nanomaterials. He has published more than 90 scientific research articles in high-ranking international journals and attended more than 40 international conferences around the world. He managed (PI) several funded projects in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He is a reviewer for ISI international journals, funded projects, scientific thesis, scientific awards, and applicants for the Fulbright Scholar Program, etc. He was awarded the Loschmit Prize from the Austrian Society of Physics and Chemistry, (2000). Professor  EL-Hagary has been selected as a member of committees in the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities and is a member of the Editorial Board of some International Journals. Since June 2023, In June 2023 Professor  EL- Hagary has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Science, at Helwan University.

Prof. Mohamed Dkhil

Prof. Mohamed Dkhil graduated with his B.Sc. degree from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt. Professor Mohamed Dkhil received his M. Sc. from Helwan University, in 1999. He got his Ph.D. from  Molecular Parasitology Institute, Heinrich Heine University, Duesseldorf, Germany, 2004. Professor Mohamed Dkhil is working now at Helwan University as a full Professor. Prof. Mohamed Dkhil research Interests are General area of research is natural products, nanotechnology, and Molecular Parasitology, Studying the host gene regulation during parasitic infection, and understanding the impacts of natural products and nanoparticles on host-parasite interactions. He holds the position of Director of the Inter-Studies Center at Helwan University.  He has published more than 220 peer-reviewed publications in high-ranking leading international journals.  Professor Mohamed Dkhil is an editor in several journals. He authored and managed (PI) several funded projects in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He is a reviewer for ISI international journals, funded projects, and scientific thesis, etc. He was awarded the State Encouragement Prize for Biological Sciences (Egypt 2017), and State Award for Excellence in Basic Sciences (2021).

Professor Emad Farhat is a professor of Plant Ecology at Helwan University, Egypt. His research interests are plant ecology, forest ecology, dendroecology, population dynamics, biodiversity, conservations, and vegetation analysis, in addition to wood anatomy. Currently, Prof. Farhat concentrates on the ecological, dendroecological, and wood anatomy studies of some Egyptian plants. In addition to biodiversity and conservation of tree species in Egypt.

Professor Ayman E. Maurice graduated from the Faculty of Science (Cairo University Branch at Beni-Suef) in 1994 with a B.Sc. in Geology with a cumulative grade of excellent. He finished his MSc (2000) and Ph.D. (2006) in Mineralogy and Petrology from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University. He started his career as a demonstrator at Geology Department, Beni-Suef Faculty of Science in 1995, then was appointed as an assistant lecturer in the same department in 2000. After getting Ph.D. degree, He worked as a lecturer (2006-2014) and associate professor (2014-2015) at the Faculty of Science, Beni-Suef University. Prof. Maurice joined Helwan University as an associate professor in July 2015. He got awards of the Best M.Sc. Thesis (2000) and the Best Ph.D. Thesis (2006) at Cairo University, and Beni-Suef University encouragement award (The academic year 2012/2013). Professor Maurice has published his research in several peer-reviewed international journals. He has reviewed manuscripts for several distinguished international journals such as Precambrian Research, Lithos, International Geology Review, Ore Geology Reviews, Geological Magazine, International Journal of Earth Sciences, Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, Journal of African Earth Sciences, and Swiss Journal of Geosciences. His main research topics include Petrology, Geochemistry, and Mineral Chemistry of the Neoproterozoic rocks and the mineralization of the Arabian-Nubian Shield. At present,  Maurice Prof. is a professor of mineralogy, petrology, and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Science for Education and Students Affairs, and Head of the Geology Department

Prof. Galal Hamza Elgemeie

Prof. Galal Elgemeie is a professor of organic chemistry at Helwan University, Egypt. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Science (D. Sc.). He was a postdoctoral fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany (1983-85), where he worked at Darmstadt University. He also obtained the Fulbright postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University, USA (1986), the British Council postdoctoral fellowship at the University of East Anglia, England (1989), and then the German Research Foundation (DFG) fellowship at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg, Germany (1998). He is an international elected member of the Scientific Board of the International Basic Sciences Programme (IBSP), UNESCO, in Paris, France “2004-2008”. In January 2006 until June 2009, Prof. Elgemeie was appointed to the position of Cultural Counselor and Director of the Educational Mission of the Embassy of Egypt in Berlin, Germany. From July 2011 until November 2013, he worked as the First Deputy Minister of State, Ministry of Higher Education, Egypt and also, he acted as a Chairman for the Board of Directors of the Fulbright Foundation in Cairo. Prof. Elgemeie is the author of over 270 scientific international papers on organic and medicinal chemistry. Prof. Elgemeie's research activities were acknowledged through the following Awards: The African Union Scientific Award "Continental Scientific Award" for Outstanding Achievements in Science and Technology "2010", the Egypt State Honor Award "NILE" "2014" and the ISESCO Scientific Award " Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Scientific Award" "2016".

Ahmed Esmat Abdel Moneim received his higher education at Helwan University in Egypt, where he studied science. In 2009, he was awarded his philosophy degree in science. Now, prof. Abdel Moneim is professor of physiology at the Faculty of Science, Helwan University. Prof. Abdel Moneim was a postdoctoral fellow at Spanish Universities. His research interests are in toxicology, physiology and neuroscience, focusing on the ability of natural products to ameliorate the different environmental toxins.

Dr. Maysa M. N. Taha is an associate professor at the Department of Geology, at Helwan University in Egypt. Her primary profession and experience are in Remote Sensing Applications and related geology and natural environment disciplines.  The research interest focuses on coastal dynamics and related geomorphology and shoreline changes, geo-hazards, and risk assessment and mapping. Geo-Heritage sites are also of particular relevance in terms of paleogeography, paleoclimate, and archaeology.

Ahmed Ezzat Labib is an assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science at Faculty of Science, Helwan University, where he has been since 2018. From 2013 to 2017 he was a PhD Researcher at Department of Computer Systems and Computation (DSIC) at Universitat  Politècnica de València, Spain. During 2021-2022 he served as a Deputy Director of the Scientific Computation Center at Helwan University. Since 2017 he was a Director of the Information Technology Unit, Faculty of Science at Helwan University. He received a B.Sc. from Helwan University in 2002, and an M.Sc. from Helwan University in 2009. He received his Ph.D. (Hons) in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Department of Computer Systems and Computation in 2017.  His research interests in computer assisted assessment, software product lines and artificial intelligence. Much of his work has been on improving the assessment techniques, design learning objects, and personalization of e-learning systems, mainly through the application of data science, ontology, statistics, and machine learning. In the software product lines arena, he has worked on enforcing reuse and customization in the development of learning objects. In addition, His research interests in exploring the presence of classification and detection of nano-particles types using deep learning techniques.
